Founding Secretary/Storyteller
Meet Renz Morales Lanaban! He is a co-founding member of SEAnag Silangan and serves as its Sead Storyteller, translating science and research outputs into accessible narratives for local and youth communities, while also contributing to field-based research and mangrove ecosystem conservation initiatives.
A Cum Laude graduate of Bachelor of Science in Biology major in Plant Biology from the University of Southeastern Philippines, with multiple leadership and service awards, he specializes in mangrove ecosystems, coastal restoration, and blue carbon science, with experience in biodiversity assessment, ecological fieldwork, and community-based conservation.
His academic work includes the publication of a blue carbon stock assessment study titled "Blue Carbon Stock Assessment of The Mangrove Swamp Forest Reserve in Baganga, Davao Oriental, Philippines" in Applied Environmental Science (SCOPUS-indexed journal), alongside presentations in various research congresses and academic platforms.
Through SEAnag Silangan, he helps advance science-driven and community-centered conservation efforts, with a strong focus on mangrove protection and coastal ecosystem sustainability in Davao Oriental and beyond.
