Meet Cardiff Vann S. Burgos Jr.! He is a co-founding member of SEAnag Silangan and serves as its Team Leader/President. An emerging biology researcher graduated at Davao Oriental State University specializing in the taxonomy, evolutionary biology, and biodiversity conservation of Philippine Coleoptera (beetles). A certified regular member of BIOTA Philippines and Philippine Coleopterists Society Inc., he serves as an assessor for the IUCN-SSC Philippine Beetle Specialist Group, where he contributes to evidence-based conservation assessments and science communication. 

His work integrates field-based biodiversity documentation, research synthesis, spatial data science, and public education to support conservation decision-making and capacity building. Alongside his research, he produces commissioned cartographic works using QGIS and is expanding his technical expertise in ArcGIS.

 A recipient of the Analyn A. Cabras Coleopterology Research Excellence Award, Cardiff is currently preparing for advanced training through the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems (TROPIMUNDO).

As Team Leader of SEAnag Silangan, he continues to bridge youth -centric advocacies and actions to contribute meaningfully in their communities towards sustainable development in Davao Oriental.
